October Favorites!

Hey beauty lovers!

I’m back from my mini vacation from blogging. So sorry it took so long! I’ve finally settled into my new school and work schedule. Plus Halloween and my Fiancé’s birthday week is over. It’s already the first day of November and I just can’t believe it. Time is truly flying by this year.

I’ve been very into gel eyeliner this month. It’s a simple way to define your eyes and to me is less stress then a pencil. It does take some practice but nothing too stressful. I love L’Oreal Infallible Lacquer Liner 24 hour in 171 Blackest Black. The texture is smooth and does not dry out.

To apply the gel liner I use my Sonia Kashuk angled eyeliner brush. This brush is the perfect size to get deep in the lash line and great to create the perfect cat wing. The bristles are so soft. Mine is from Sonia Kashuk anniversary brush set.

The best drugstore mascara I found is Maybelline Mega Plush Volume Express in Blackest black. The handle is flexible so you can reach all out your lashes. The brush on the other hand is super fat and has short compact bristles. This mascara is good for volume and lengthening.

Cream eyeshadow is my go to lately. Maybelline Tattoo cream eyeshadow 24 hour is Simple to use but it looks like you put a lot of effort into your look. I love the shade 25 Bad to the Bronze. It’s a brownish taupe color and has all day staying power. Just warm the product up on your finger and tap it on to your lid.

Looking for a concealer brush that blends like a dream? Check out Sonia Kashuk’s brush line. Also from her anniversary kit is my flat tapered concealer brush. It gets into all the tiny spaces to blend your concealer.

Nude lipstick goes with everything but for a funky twist this month I tried Lust for Blush 665 by Maybelline Matte lipstick. I’m sure by now you have heard of the new collection Maybelline launched last month of 10 matte shade of lipsticks. I picked up 8, a post to come on them soon. The color of Lust for Blush is a light pinkish purple shade closer to nude but has a kick to it.

Finally my last favorite of the month is Urban Decay All Nighter setting Spray. It helps keep your makeup on all day and it’s a simple finishing step. I also use it to prep my skin for foundation. The smell isn’t the greatest but once it’s dry you can’t notice it.

I’m going to throw in some pictures of my Halloween makeup and the makeup I did for my friend she pwent as Cleopatra and I did her roommate Nicole eyeshadow. What’s your favorite for the month?

Love always,

Fresh Faced Friday

Hey skin care lovers!

Let’s all take a deep breathe and let the stress of the week melt away. My favorite way to unwind is a hot bath, face mask, and a good book. Anyone else agree ? Grab your favorite bubble bath and let’s talk about a face mask.

This week at school I was lucky enough to have a fellow student I look up to preform an extraction on me. An extraction is when your pimples, whiteheads, & blackheads are removed. Now don’t go thinking it’s okay to pop pimples. You need to have the proper steps such as cleansing, toning, & steaming. When I learn the proper steps in detail I’ll write a post all about it. The point is I’m trying to deep clean my pores and that was what this mask is targeted at.

Of course it is a Freeman mask, Avocado and Oatmeal Clay Mask. This mask is for normal / combination skin. It claims to deep clean and purify your skin. As I’m sure your tired of reading the first step is I cleanse my face with my Cetaphil cleanser and Clarisonic. Next I pat my face dry and apply the masks in sections. As I’m waiting for the mask to dry my face starts itching like crazy. So unfortunately I had to wash it off before the mask completely dried.

The mask didn’t smell it was just a fun creamy green color. Applying the mask was relaxing and super easy which I love. I’m guessing the oatmeal in the mask made my face itch but since I have sensitive skin and I didn’t want to chance it. You can pick this mask up in the skin care aisle at your drugstore.

My personal recommendation is to skip this mask if you have sensitive skin. I didn’t notice anything different in my skin but I also didn’t get to use the mask to it’s full potential. If anyone else has tried this product please leave me some details on your experience with it. Enjoy my Frankenstein face and Happy Early Halloween!

Vice by Urban Decay

Beauty junkies I have the most exciting thing to share with you today!

I’m sharing the Vice palette by Urban Decay with you! My fiancé is the best he surprised me again with the Vice palette after hearing me talk about it non stop.

So of course the packaging is luxurious. It comes in a beautiful box with a beautiful pouch inside. Inside of the pouch is a beautiful case which has the eyeshadows neatly organized by color. Opening the case their is a huge mirror! The mirror is the size of the palette so no squinting to see yourself. It comes with a brush but it’s a let down. The double ended brush is a cheap version of the brush you get in the Naked palettes.

With this palette you get Twenty shades in variety of colors. Five of the shades are matte while the rest are satin finish. The colors are definitely a different mix. You have neutrals, pinks, blues, a green, purples, and greys. The pigmentation is great just one swipe is all you need to pick the color up. The shadows are creamy and smooth. The same quality eyeshadows we love from Urban Decay are in this palette. You can purchase this palette at Sephora and Ulta the price is sixty dollars. It does seem pricy but you get more for your money with this Pete compare to a Naked palette for fifty four dollars. Have any more questions about the palette just ask. Hopefully I can put a tutorial together soon.

Fresh Faced Friday

Good morning beauty junkies!

Fresh Faced Friday is here and happening! We’re using Freeman Purifying Paper Mask Star Fruit. It claims to purify and helps control oil. My T zone lately has been out of control with how oily it becomes by mid day.

Simple steps to use this mask, first wash your face with a gentle cleanser.
Pat your skin dry and apply the paper mask. It smells like cantaloupe and I love it personally. Wait ten minutes for this mask to really soak into your skin. Peel the mask off and press the left over serum into your skin.

Usually when I use a new mask I can’t notice too much of a difference right away. This mask though made my skin feel fresh and healthy. After I peeled the mask off, my skin and pores felt tight and slightly burning. My skin was warm and red after taking this mask off. Ten minutes later everything had calmed down and returned to normal. If you have sensitive skin I would suggest trying this mask on a day you can stay home just in case your skin has a bad reaction to this mask. The picture where my face is red is after I removed the mask. hope you enjoyed!

Covergirl & Maybelline Quad Reviews

Hey wonderful people!

How has your week been going? For me it has been non stop with work but thankfully I get to go home and visit my parents soon. I have been shopping lately (shocker) and wanted to give you some quick reviews on two eyeshadow quads.

I have the Maybelline Sandstone Shimmer quad. The colors are amazing for fall. Copper, chocolate brown, burgundy, and a white shimmer are what’s included in this palette. The colors are easy to blend plus the color payoff is amazing. Each shade is labeled how to wear it such as crease, lid, etc. but to keep life interesting I’m breaking those rules. Each shadow does have shimmer in it but nothing that’s too dramatic for a day time eye. There is some fall out but if you start with your eye makeup then apply foundation you should be fine.

A recent launch from Covergirl ended up with me buying a new eyeshadow quad. It’s full of different shades of grey and dark plum color. They are a satin finish but you need to apply more shadow then you regularly would. The color pay off isn’t that great it takes three layers for the pigment to show up. If you have extra time to keep applying shadow then the colors are very pretty. For a quick out the door eye I would skip on this quad. I picked up the shade Smokey Nudes. You can purchases these at your local drugstores for less then ten dollars. The grey shadows at the top of my arm in the picture below is from the Covergirl palette. What are favorite drugstore eyeshadows?

Skincare Routine

Hey beauties!

Let’s talk about skincare. I’ve been changing my routine around to help my skin calm down and I’m finally satisfied. So now it’s time to share my skincare routine with you.

First step in my skincare is melting my makeup away. I use virgin compressed coconut oil about a quarter size. I massage it in to my skin and add warm water, using a wash cloth to wipe away my makeup.

Next I cleanse my skin with my Clarisonic Mia 2 and Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser. I love my Mia 2 it cleans deep into my pores and exfoliates the dead skin away. Since it does deep clean your pores for the first month your skin is going to break out. Trust me it gets better over time. The cleanser is nothing special just gentle for sensitive skin and leaves my skin feeling moisturized and clean.

On nights I’m treating myself I’ll use my Peter Thomas Roth Peeling gel exfoliate. After washing your face let your skin completely dry. Then apply a quarter size amount to your finger tips and massage in small circular motions. This exfoliate just rolls your dead skin right off your face. Rinse with water and pat dry.

For and extra special treat I’ll use a face mask. Right now I’m loving the Origins Clear improvement mask with active charcoal. I have a Fresh Faced Friday Review all about this product. Just keep scrolling down my blog a few post back. All you really need to know is that’s it is easy and truly works.

After rinsing off the mask I apply a moisturizer. I’m using a sample of the Lancôme Bienfait Multi Vital Night cream. I love the smell of this stuff! It reminds me of flowers and sophistication. The moisturizer is extra hydrating and soothing.

I’m using a sample eye cream as well by Lancôme it’s called Youth activating eye cream. It’s thick and absorbs into your under eyes super fast. I’m really enjoying it. Lastly I use my Nivea lip butter in Vanilla and Macadamia kiss. This taste like a dessert and makes your lips so soft.

I’ve been using this skincare system for almost a month now and I’m completely happy with how it’s helping calm my break outs and moisturizes my skin. I could not find the eye cream I’m using on Lancome’s website. Upsetting I know, if you have any recommendations please leave it in the comments! You can purchase these items at Ulta, Sephora, and your local drugstores. Have a happy Monday!

Fresh Faced Friday

Hey beauties!

How have you all been? My week has been super busy with work. I feel like I have been standing my life away. Have to love working in retail right?

Let’s start off with an update about the Charcoal mask from last week. I’ve used it two more times since last Friday. I have noticed a huge difference in my skin. Although I have been breaking out more. I believe it’s from the mask purifying my skin. To fight the break outs I’ve been using Epiduo. It has dried my skin out too much! I have cracked skin all over my chin. So that’s leads us to the next mask I’m going to review.

Freeman Hydrating paper mask blue agave. In not a fan of paper mask because the cut outs for your eyes never match up on me! I always end up with the product in my eyes. That being said I enjoyed this mask. It was super slimy but afterwards my face felt hydrated and plump.

To take you through the process I first patted a hot wash cloth over my face to open my pores. I washed my face using my new favorite face wash by Cetaphil and the Mia 2 Clarosonic. After I apply the paper mask pressing it into my skin I wait ten minutes and take the slimy hot mess off. I press the left over serum from the mask Into my skin and wait for it to dry.

This mask has saved my face! I no longer have cracked skin on my chin. The results I had are glowing hydrated plump skin. The cost for such great results are just 2 dollars at Walmart in the skin care section. You can’t beat the little drugstore hacks. My overall review is that this product does exactly what it says hydrates the skin.

If your skin is ever looking dull before a big night out I would pop this baby on for 10 minutes with a pumpkin spice latte in my hand and relax. Applying your makeup afterwards would be a dream. Hope you enjoyed.

Anastasia Brow Powder Duo Review!

Hey beauty junkies!

I wanted to give you a quick review on the Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in the shade Blonde. Having light colored hair means I have to fill my eyebrows in if I want to look like I have any. I’ve been experimenting with some different things but I’ve finally found one I love.

The packaging is gorgeous with it’s sleek black compact and rose gold detailing. It even has a dainty mirror. You have two different color options a lighter and a darker shade. The colors are between a lighter dirty blonde and a darker.

There is a good amount of product for the price. I purchased my at Ulta and paid 23 dollars. You can find Anastasia products at Ulta, Sephora, and online at anastasiabeverlyhills.com.

The consistency of the powder when applying it is a smooth even application. I’ve never had problems with it looking patchy. I’ve worn this eyebrow powder all day and it stays where you place it. No fading or rubbing away.

How I use it personally is I take an angle eyeliner brush with dense bristles (mines from I on beauty) and sweep the brush over the lighter shade first. I outline the front of my brows to about the arch. I then dip my brush in the darker shade and outline from the arch to the tail of my brow. After I’ve made the perfect shape I fill in my brows using the excess of the darker shade and a dapple of the lighter shade.

Overall I’m truly impressed with this product. Between the staying power and many color options it’s just a great product. What’s your holy grail eyebrow product?

Love always,

July Favorites

Hey beauty lovers!

Well it’s the first day and August and it’s time for my favorites of July. I have makeup, hair care, fashion, and music to share with you today.

Let’s start with the fashion piece. It’s a small cross body bag I found in a local thrift store. The cool part about the purse is that you can wear it so many ways! The chain of the purse is a adjustable so you can wear it as a shoulder bag, cross body, or you can tuck the chain inside and use it as a clutch.

I couldn’t find it on Victoria’s Secret website so I’m guessing it’s and older style. It’s quilted and the pattern is the Victoria’s Secret PINK symbol all over it. To keep the clutch closed it has a magnet in the front. The color is between a black/blue.

For music I’ve been mixing it up lately. I usually listen to pop and r&b but my lady crush just recently dropped her new album Coming Home and I have to have it. Wondering who I’m talking about? Mrs. Jesse James Decker. I just love her as a person and had to give her music a try. It is country with a kick but the songs are so heart felt and well written that I play her songs more then any others. You can purchase her album on iTunes for about 6 dollars.

I’ve been using this deep conditioner for over a year now. I actually use it as my regular conditioner. Its the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Moist. It’s smells like coconut and it’s super creamy. A little goes a long way, if you use too much your hair will end up looking greasy. I only use this on my ends wait 3 minutes and wash it out. You can usually find this at drug stores for about 4 dollars.

I’ve already raved about these two new products in previous post so I won’t spend too much time on them. The ELF contour compact is inexpensive and pigmented. Everything I love in make up. While the highlighter by Estée Lauder is a bit pricey but a gorgeous gold shimmer.

I’ve been looking for a new drugstore concealer that I love and for now I’ve found one. It’s the Rimmel Match Perfection in the shade 125 fair. I really like the applicator brush and squeeze tube. It’s a light weight concealer but it still covers dark circles and redness. Check your drug store but this beauty is about 6 dollars.

Since it was national lipstick day recently I had to include a lipstick. My favorite lipstick of life is Milani Fruit Punch. The color is perfect it’s a nice rose color. It’s smooth, creamy, and super buttery. I just can’t say enough good things about this.

Last is my favorite eyebrow combo. Benefit gimme brow and Anastasia brow powder duo. First I run the gimme brow in the light shade through my brows to fill them in and shape them. Next I take the brow powder and an angle brush and use the light color to outline the front of my brows and the darker shade to out line the tail of my brows. I bought both of these products at ULTA. They were both about 23 dollars a piece. Thanks for reading!

Estée Lauder Illuminating Powder Review

Hey beauties!

New review coming your way! Keeping on the contouring track I figured next I should review my new favorite highlighter. It’s by Estée Lauder is the shade 01 heat wave.

Let’s take a moment of silence for just how beautiful the packaging is. It’s gold, shiny, and luscious. Once you open the the compact there is a huge mirror and then the most shimmery amazing highlighter. The highlighter itself is a gold shimmer. When your wearing this it looks like your glowing from within.

You just slightly dip your brush across it and I apply it to the top of my check bones, down my nose, and my Cupid’s bow. I purchased mine at my local cosmetic company. You can look online for locations.

The price is a bit of a stick shock compared to my 6 dollar contouring compact but I just couldn’t pass it up. Drum roll please! You can purchase this compact for 30 dollars. We’ll leave me some comments for things you want to see next!

Love always,
